SHS 20th Class Reunion

Hey Class of '92! We are so excited to be performing at your 20th Class Reunion! As a fellow classmate, I am honored to have my band, Band of Gold, entertain all of you in September. It's going to be a blast for me to do the 2 things I love the most - hanging out with old friends and playing music with some incredible musicians. At the reunion, we will be performing as a 5 piece band with Amanda Brown (vocals), Tyson Farmer (guitars/vocals), Brian Miller (drums/vocals), Pat Strawser (keys/vocals), and Kris Bayne (bass/vocals). We will also be bringing our state of the art concert lighting that will really dress up the room and create an awesome dance floor.

Other than pictures, I can't think of anything that brings back memories better than music. Our goal is to play music from our era...the mid-80's - the early 90's. We want to perform songs that you know and love. That is why we want your input! Please feel free to comment on this blog and give us ideas of what YOU would like to hear. Band of Gold wants this to be YOUR night.

So, let us know what you want and we'll do our best to make it happen! Thanks Class of '92! We can't wait to see you soon!

Honing Our Skills

Honing Our Skills

Band of Gold Trio

One of the perks of being a professional musician is the occasional ability to break away from the "everyday" cover songs and play something bold and exciting. I can't think of a better way to hone a musician's skills than to throw him in a new environment with songs he has never even thought of playing before. The performance becomes a learning situation where musicians become better players and more importantly, better communicators with each other. Spontaneous, live performances create an excitement for the musician and, at the same time, the guests are uniquely entertained. I am fortunate to have this opportunity every week at various restaurants and clubs with 2 of the greatest musicians I've ever performed with.

I can't think of a more appropriate way to showcase our trio. We create nice, classy jazz mixed with non-classy rock and pop. Guests never know what we'll play next. And neither do we.

We take requests. We play them if we know them, we fake it if we don't and most of the time, we get away with it. There's an amazing reward for that. It makes you feel like you can do anything. It also makes guests feel included. By communicating with the band and yelling requests through the open air THEY become the show. That's magic.
